My name is Cookie I was their very first Rat Terrier, the one that made                my family fall in love with the breed. I am now the guardian angel, and                I am here to tell you about Lake Rats Kennels.                                     We were raised on beautiful Lake Travis,and live nearby in            Central Texas "In the boondocks"! Some of us come from champion            bloodlines and the rest of us think we do.We are bred for show            possibility, so we are all show stock, some of us stay and some of            us go.(Our owners are working very hard on our conformation).            For information on Papillons see our Mom and Dad pages.                                                 We all are registered,and or listed with AKC as foundation stock for            future registrations when AKC recognizes the Rat Terrier breed. We            have many different beautiful colors like blue, pearl, light and dark            chocolate,tan,apricot,sable, and black & white tri.We have different            patterns also calico,spotted, speckled tuxedo, or saddle back. I have            tipped ears and my friends have pointed ears. Some of us have long            legs class A. I have short legs class B, which I am also called a “Teddy”            after Theodore Roosevelt. My ancestors used to live in the white house            with him to keep the rats out.                                           The Roosevelt's Rat Terrier           Our Great x2 Aunt Bertha        Our Great x2 Uncle Billy           As far as our personality…we are very amusing, we love to make you         laugh and put a smile on you face by doing silly little things like prancing         around your chair, smiling, lifting your arm with our nose to get your         attention.We are really nice, and have true Rattie temperament. We         are really loveable,cute and friendly except of course to the mice.We         have this little song and dance we do when we want something, it is         really irresistible to humans…hehe.We love to have A job and if you         don’t find one for us we will figure one out,if it’s fetching the newspaper,         guarding the porch & car or keeping the neighbors cat from doing his         business in your flowerbeds.We have to work for you, that is our nature.         We are exceptionally easy to train, we make good dogs for therapy,         deaf and hearing impaired, travel companion, jogging or walking partner,         boating, rafting, hiking, family pet, and the list goes on.
